Interview with Andrew LoMastro (Cerebral Incubation)

How did you guys get together as a band? Well, the band started back in 2007 with 5 members. Then when the other guitar player wasn’t working out it turned into a four piece band with Ricky (drums), Ben (bass), Mark (guitar), and Vince (vocals). I had met the band at a house show they were playing at with Inherit Diseased, Condemned and Amagortis. Ricky and Mark heard me doing vocals at the show for a few friends. They really liked my style and thought I was good at it. Two years later we were all at a Suffocation show and they were looking for a new vocalist. Vince was no longer with the band. They asked me to try out. Ever since, it has been just the four of us.
You released one of the most classic slam albums, "Asphyxiating on Excrement". Looking at it now, how do you feel about it? Well, I did not have any part in that album. Vince was the original vocalist at that time. All I can say is I love how hyped our fans get over it.
You've announced a new album. Can you tell us something more? Gonorrhea Mastication is our latest release. Ever since that album has come out, it seems as though we have gained a lot more following. When it comes to new material, we are in the process of writing. We want to bring something even heavier that will please our old fans and keep our new ones’ attention.
What are your future plans/ambitions? At the moment, the biggest goals we have are to be able to tour around the world. We have only played in California and New Mexico. We were very fortunate to have just played Berlin Death Fest. We have not played anywhere else, other than our hometown Las Vegas, Nevada.
Who/what inspires you? As far as inspiration for music, my biggest inspirations would have to be old school death metal bands such as Suffocation, Immolation, etc. Playing in a slam band, I had to transition my vocals into that of a more guttural style. The two main vocalists I listen to while practicing are Angel Ochoa (Condemned, Cephalotripsy…) and Blue Jensen (Guttural Secrete). Their vocal patterns and range are incredible.
Have you encountered the "this music is shit" attitude? Yes! When it comes to music, regardless of the genre, you will always encounter that negative attitude. Everyone has their own preferences. If everyone enjoyed listening to the same music, or even following the same actions, the world would never turn. 7: You just got back from Germany. How was it? It was fucking fantastic! Denny, of Pighead, made it all possible. He provided us with shelter, gear, and a great venue. Without him, none of this would have ever been possible. Everyone that we encountered in Berlin were very courteous and considerate. We, the entire band, cannot thank everyone enough. From our tour guides, to the supporting bands, to all of our fans. They made our trip an eventful experience. We hope to do it again soon.
One band you'd tour the world with? Necrambulant. Not just because they are good friends, but because of their stage presence. They are very charismatic.
Is there a song you are most proud of writing? There are two actually, as far as creating the vocal patterns. Rape Whistle Chord Strangulation and Bubbling Rectal Cum Fart.
What is the craziest shit that ever happened to you? (Related to the band) Getting drunk and blacking out in Berlin. What can I say? We (the band) have never really left Las Vegas.

Your intros are without a doubt hilarious. Where do the ideas come from? The ideas come from Ben and Ricky. They are the comedians of the band. Ben is actually an aspiring standup comic.
Say anything you want to your fans. Thank you for all of the support. Whether you have been to our shows, purchased our t-shirts or albums, we appreciate it. We want to see all of you and party with you!
