Interview with Ondřej Benc (Epicardiectomy)


1: You replaced Tom in the band. Can you tell us more about why he decided to leave, how you got picked and how the fans have accepted you? Well, Tom has 2 little kids, he just wants to spend his time with his family. There's no bad blood between Tom and the rest of epi. Sometimes he shows up at our band practice to have a good time. He just couldn't make it anymore. Epicardiectomy chose me by chance... One day I was desperately looking for a death metal band and I asked epi on facebook if they knew of any death metal bands in Prague, they said no. Months later I got a message from Serge (guitarist) if I would be able to play with epi in Paderborn, Germany because Tom wasn't able to play and that's how my story began. Fans are getting used to me, I think they like my style and my gutturals so hopefully it will get even better, they seem to have a good time at our gigs .
2: You just came back from a Russian tour, how was that? Russia is fucking Incredible!!!! Wicked country and wicked fans. Every gig was insane, people were crazy. We were touring with Italian guys Rabid Dogs, we have fuckin hilarious memories with them and we just couldn't wish for better guys to tour with.
3: What are your guys' future plans/ambitions? Not so much, we are really busy this year with gigs... Make new material and such.
4: Is there any new material coming soon from Epicardiectomy? We plan to release a split with Nephrectomy and some other surprises.
5: You just joined the band and there are already several european gigs and an american tour booked. How are you getting used to such a busy schedule? It's really hard to get used to it....You know if you get sick you don't have much time to recover your health because next weekend you have another gig (still feeling a lil bit sick from the russian tour :D), and mentally it's hard too, lot of stress and such, but it's worth it because we have a good time making fun, stupid fun and you know more and more people from other bands and fans which is great.
6: One band you'd love to share the stage with? Cephalotripsy.
7: Alien invasion or zombie apocalypse? Fuckin Zombies!!!
8: Say anything you want to all your fans. Keep supporting underground genres and Defend Wigger Slam!!!

1. How have you been?  Not good at all, it’s been a very shit year so far with multiple deaths of people I loved very much, but I’d rather not discuss it. I’m just glad to speak to an enjoyer of Pestilectomy as we love the chance to do this the most.  2. Interview with Donovan Fox (Defenestrated Treachery)

1. How have you been? I’ve been good, though my life’s been pretty uneventful other than the slam shit. 2. What are you currently listening to that you would recommend? I’ve been spinning some classic slam albums like Rationing The Sacred Human Remains by Parasitic Ejaculation and Uterovaginal Insertions of Extirpated Anomalies by Cephalotripsy. A newer band I’ve been listening to is Cranioclast, an oldschool deathcore style project that my friend has. He also has a slam project called Nephrostomy that DT is actually getting a feature on! We recorded our feature a few days ago, actually.  3. You have a 4-way split coming out in January. Are there any plans for a solo EP/album?
