Interview with Kryptoxik Mortality
We’ve all been great. Enjoying the holidays, and getting ready for this new year.
2. What are you currently listening to that you would recommend?
We’ve all been listening to some different things lately: Esophagus, Epicardiectomy, PeelingFlesh and Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship. Cephalotripsy’s new album was also a favorite.
3. What are your musical plans for the future?
Well the future for us contains writing and releasing more music. We love putting as much slam out as we can, for sure! Other than that, we love doing festivals, so we want to do as many of those as we can, as well as more out of town and out of state shows. But of course we like to stay local and work with the bands in the Seattle area to continue building the brutal scene in Washington. We also just played our first show with our new vocalist Travis, and we are looking forward to working on new material with him.
4. What is your favorite piece of art you have produced that has a special place in your heart?
We have to go with the art of our first release, Ravenous Mutilation. It was our first EP we released and it was drawn by Wildan Slam Art. He does great work, so check him out on Facebook and Instagram.
5. Can you tell us a fun fact related to your music that we may not know?
The fun fact is we write riffs and grooves based off the whatever artwork we chose for that release. We jam it out till the vibe is right, then Kaleb actually mixes and masters it all in house. He runs Megalodon Sound Productions.
6. What is the craziest shit that ever happened to you related to the band?
The craziest shit that has happened to us was on the trip we took to Arkansas Death Fest. There was a severe weather warning that shut down flights and Caleb and Joseph ended up having to find a rental car, and drive 6 hours because the flight they were on was canceled until the next day. Then the next night at the festival grounds, there was a heavy storm and a mini flash flood that washed out a bunch of tents and sent them sailing down the campgrounds. It was awesome.
7. What are your five desert island picks and biggest inspirations?
We talked about our 5 inspirations and came up with six. Devourment, Kraanium, Analepsy, Visceral Disgorge, Pathology, and Abominable Putridity. Oh, and weed. Can’t forget that while we are out on a desert island!
8. Dream tour line-up and destination?
Kraanium, Devourment, Waking the Cadaver, Epicardiectomy, and Us. And it would be a West coast tour to the 70k Tons of Metal Cruise to the Caribbean.
9. Alien invasion or zombie apocalypse?
Alien invasion, hands down.
